Role Overview & Specifications

Acorn by Synergie is seeking a Maintenance Mechanical Technician to work for our well-established client based in Pentwyn, to work on a permanent basis.



The main function of this role is to report to the Lead Engineer to supply first-line response to manufacturing equipment breakdowns, and provide engineering support/solutions.




Key responsibilities:



  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance of all equipment and machinery
  • Provide technical hands-on support for machinery and equipment breakdowns
  • Completing and logging engineering helpdesk tasks
  • Carrying out jig changes/change-overs/putty changes/oil changes
  • Provide technical support for Gemba innovation and engineering projects


Education and relevant experience:



  • ONC/ HNC (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering
  • 2+ years' experience with a maintenance mechanical engineering background


Knowledge and skills:



  • Experience in lathe and milling machines
  • Excellent mechanical problem solving skills
  • Read mechanical technical drawings
  • Experience of Presses and welding machines (desirable)

  • Experience of working in a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • High degree of flexibility relating to working hours
  • Self-motivated
  • Must be able to work at height or within enclosed spaces
