Management Accountant

Our client, a fast growing business within the Utility and Fibre broadband industry have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Management Accountant. As Management Accountant you will distribute the financial resources of the company, be responsible for assisting with the budget planning, and support the executive management team by offering insights and financial advice that will allow them to make the best business decisions for the company. The MA will oversee end-to-end finance operations, assist the Financial Controller with financial planning and analysis, balance sheet reconciliations and look to make improvements to procedures and controls, as well as ad-hoc projects and requests as and when they arise.



Job Duties



Leading and co-ordinating the monthly finance pack reporting, and assisting with budgeting and reforecast processes, including Board pack reporting and presenting findings to the management team and Board



Ensuring the integrity of financial reports used by Finance and budget holders across the entire organisation.



Dealing with working capital management and production of cash flow forecasts.



Managing financial accounting, monitoring and reporting systems and strive to create efficiencies where appropriate.



Ensure we produce bills on time, accurate and in a customer-friendly manner and ensure we manage creditors and debtors to optimise the cash flow of the business and minimize bad debts and debt risk.



Drive continuous improvements in commerciality, commercial understanding and commercial decision-making throughout the business



Drive the continuous improvement of end-to-end accounting practices.



Proactively seeking to maintain and improve all financial controls, ensuring the processes are fully documented, frequently reviewed and updated and communicated as appropriate. Ensure financial controls are appropriate as the business scales.



Strive to improve efficiencies and conduct reviews and evaluations for cost reduction opportunities.



Ensuring the business meets all its statutory and compliance obligations, including assisting with statutory accounting and tax issues with ownership of monthly payroll, VAT and HMRC processes.



Developing external relationships with appropriate contacts, e.g. auditors, solicitors, bankers and statutory organisations such as the H M Revenue & Customs



Essential knowledge &skills:

An analytical mind and strong commercial and business awareness.



A keen eye for detail and a desire to probe further into data to improve levels of commerciality and data-driven decision making.



An independent thinker who is prepared to challenge and support at all levels in the business to improve the quality and integrity of decision making



A team player but also able to independently and self-motivate.
