Location: Newcastle under Lyme
Salary: Β£27,911.52 based on 4 on 4 off 12 hour shifts (2 days 2 nights)
Reporting directly to the site Logistics FLM (Front Line Manager), the Despatch Operative role involves product receipt, loading & unloading of vehicles, order picking, product allocation and fork lift truck driving to ensure that orders are despatched in an accurate and timely manner.
- You must demonstrate a βSafety Firstβ approach through being proactive with hazard reporting, working with despatch coordinators and FLMβs to target zero harm.
- Demonstrate a flexible approach when moving between the various tasks within the despatch operation, including order picking, decanting, loading, unloading and product control; being open and willing to learn and develop new skills.
- Follow instructions, training, procedures, and guidelines as set out by the site/department.
- Achieve the performance targets set; measured by the WMS and other supporting systems and measures.
- Actively contribute to site standards including internal and external audits. Ensuring a βclean as you always goβ approach.
- Build and develop effective relationships with other teams on site to ensure cross functional working and the optimal performance of the function is achieved.
- Drive your personal development, ensuring your knowledge and skills are utilised and developed, demonstrating a positive can-do attitude to your work that always reflect the Companyβs Values.
- Previous experience in warehousing & distribution environment
- External FLT licenses are desirable
- PC literate
- Working ability with Warehouse Management Systems
- Good numeracy & literacy skills
- Good interpersonal skills & a real team player
- Good time keeping, organised with good communication skills.
