We have an exciting opportunity for a Legal Counsel to join our UK Employment Law team. This is a great job for someone who is looking to join a collaborative team, enjoys working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment and who is able to demonstrate self-starting capabilities to develop their knowledge in the full range of employment law issues.
The role can be based in Norwich or London, with a requirement for some occasional travel to other business centres.
A bit about the job:
You will be joining a committed and caring team who are tasked with delivering first class employment law advice to our broad range of internal stakeholders. This includes:
Providing legal advice on all aspects of employment law as part of the Employment Law team
Supporting on legal initiatives and projects (including oversight and advice on key legislative and common law developments affecting the business)
Actively managing the instruction of external lawyers
Proactively identifying best practice and contributing to the sharing of expertise and resource across the team
Proactively monitoring and mitigating legal risks
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
A qualified Legal Executive or Solicitor, entitled to practice in the UK with relevant post-qualifying experience
Proven ability to work with people at different levels
Excellent oral and written communication and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
Ability to use initiative, work efficiently and prioritise multiple tasks
What you’ll get for this role:
Starting salary of £50,000 - £60,000 (National) and £70,000- £80,000 (London based applicants) depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications
Aviva will contribute up to 14% to your personal pension (dependent on your contribution)
