We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Financial Accountant to join the Finance team here at our Head Office in South Shields. This is an ideal opportunity for a graduate looking to develop their career in Finance or someone who has completed their AAT Level 4 Studies. Reporting to the Financial Accountant and indirectly to the Financial and Compliance Controller, you will be responsible for producing accurate and meaningful analysis, to aid productivity and effective decision making and ultimately have an impact in the pivotal success of the business. This business is looking to recruit a commercially strong, driven and proactive individual who is actively seeking a busy, varied role that offers the ability to learn and progress.
- Support the Financial Accountant in providing the appropriate reporting, analysis and commentary for month-end management reporting and regular leadership reviews. Ultimate responsibility for e-commerce contribution reporting
- Evaluate financial performance by creating variance analysis of actual results with prior year and budget/forecasts
Support the Financial Accountant with annual planning process including budget and rolling forecast updates with main focus on e-commerce.
Be a business partner, presenting monthly and quarterly financials to managers and understanding the current trends of the business
Supporting the Financial Accountant with external compliance tasks including US Sales Tax, US annual reports, VAT & Intrastat
Analyse financial data and create financial models for decision support
Increase productivity by developing automated reporting/ forecasting tools
Preparation of other ad hoc analysis as and when required
Support of wider Finance team where appropriate
- Must be IT literate with excellent Microsoft Excel skills; familiarity with data query/data management tools is extremely helpful (Access, SQL, Business Objects)
Completed AAT Level 4 or studied at degree level
1 years of business finance or other relevant experience
Commercially minded with strong analytical skills
Dealing with high volumes of complex data and producing reports for multiple entities.
MS Excel – analysis, data manipulation and reporting
- Infor M3 desirable
Working to high degree of accuracy
Able to work under pressure to deadlines
Prioritising and organising own workload
Able to resolve queries quickly and efficiently
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to build strong relationships internally
Providing accurate information first time with attention to detail
