Assistant Manager

Job description

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our Economic Development Team, in a new position created to help us develop the services we offer in our business enterprises centres (Middletons Yard & Retford Enterprise Centre) and The Bridge Skills Hub.

In the past six months Bassetlaw District Council has opened, Middletons Yard, a newly renovated business hub in Worksop town centre. Mirroring the offer provided at Retford Enterprise Centre, Middletons Yard will provide a home for local businesses. At the other end of the high street, the Council also opened The Bridge Skills Hub, in April 2022, providing state of the art formal and informal learning environments for residents and employers to access higher education.

This role is integral to both new sites in Worksop as well as Retford Enterprise Centre, so it’s essential that the Assistant Manager can drive, has access to a vehicle and can be flexible to working between the sites. The Assistant Manager will split their time across the sites, deputising for the centre managers whilst being responsible for the day-to-day operations and staff on site. This will include delivering a positive experience and a safe working environment for all building users, being a primary point of contact for internal and external support teams, coordinating staff and being responsive to market demands to cover gaps in service provision.

From a successful applicant, will would expect a strong communicator with excellent organisation and leadership skills and a positive track-record of relevant experience. Excellent customer service experience, interpersonal skills and the ability to use initiative and work on your own are key. As is, the ability to work under pressure, problem solve and work as a team.

For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Kevin Ellis on 07443 179203.
