The Company

BSV are hiring on behalf of one of the UK's leading M&E Subcontractors in the Building Services Industry. With multiple regional offices all over the UK, they require a Mechanical Manager to work on one of their residential projects in Westminster. Our client has extensive experience in mechanical and electrical engineering working predominately in the residential and commercial sectors. This is the perfect role for a Site Manager or Project Engineer looking to step up in their career.

The Role

Your responsibilities:

• Design and coordination of Mechanical Building Services.
• Management of the Design Process from Concept through to Construction stage under the Project Manager's guidance
• Preparation of reports and front end studies
• Detail Design and co ordination of Mechanical Building Services
• Working with Quality Control Systems
• Managing Building Management Systems Subcontractors
• Managing Direct Labour Force and Subcontractors
• Pricing & submitting Variations/ Change Orders & maintaining Variation / Change Order Schedules
• Manage day-to-day operational aspects of projects.
• Effectively apply company project management procedures.
• Identify, evaluate and manage the Company’s exposure to project risks.
• Under the guidance of the Project Manager review and negotiate project contracts/specifications/terms and conditions.
  

Qualifications & Experience

The ideal candidate:

City & Guilds, HND/HNC or degree educated in Mechanical Engineering

Demonstrable good working knowledge of mechnical systems and their components

Proven background history working on residential, mixed use and commercial projects

Comfortable working on projects from £5m plus.

Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines

Motivated and creative approach to problem solving

The ability to work well as part of a team with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Strong operational skills and an attention to detail

Ability to work under pressure and anticipate any problems

You must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
