Stripping Operative

About the Role

At our Ely site we are looking to recruit individuals as Stripping Operatives in our production area. You will work within a team in a fast-paced environment reporting to the Team leaders/managers in the area. You will be responsible for:

• The Reading and understanding of job specifications and worksheets.
• Able to take instructions and communicate with Team leaders/managers in the area.
• Report any Safety or Quality issues to Team Leader or Shift Supervisor.
• Removal of waste material after cutting
• Strapping pallets
• Use of bailing machine
• Preparation of pallets in readiness for dispatch
• Other ad hoc tasks as necessary, so flexible “can do” attitude required preferred but not essential if you have the right attitude and happy to learn.

Health and safety is a very important aspect within our business and you will be accountable for your own and others health and safety whilst at work, operating within the DS Smith safe systems of work guidelines.

The role requires you to work with a variety personnel within your area of production.

About you

• 
  Preferred Experience, but no essential as full training will be given, of working with and operating bailing machine within a manufacturing environment.
• 
  Working knowledge of good health and safety practices
• 
  Proven experience of working towards KPI’s and deadlines within a fast-paced environment
• 
  Effective communication skills; both written and verbally
• 
  Excellent attention to detail
• 
  The ability to make informed decisions
