Respite Care Assistant

Job Details:

• 
  Carer required for a wonderful respite care home facility.
• 
  Providing person-centred support to adults with a broad range of needs and conditions.
• 
  Promoting dignity and respect.
• 
  Safeguarding individuals in line with organisational Policies and Procedures, training and in line with local authority safeguarding principles.
• 
  Positively involving and empowering the service users.
• 
  Supporting service users with a variety of activities they enjoy both indoors and outdoors.
• 
  Assisting, where needed, with personal care, e.g. toileting and personal hygiene, respecting the person’s dignity at all times.
• 
  Administering medication as applicable.
• 
  Adapting to the needs of the service users who may display behaviours that challenge and being mindful of the varying demands and potential changes in individual behaviours.
• 
  Promoting health and safety within the working environment including Data Protection and confidentiality.
• 
  The ability to understand and follow organisational policies and procedures.
• 
  Participating in any training organised as appropriate to the position.
• 
  Contributing to delivery of individual’s care plans.
• 
  Working with professionals and families in order to develop positive relationships and cooperative approaches.
• 
  Completing accurate records on a daily basis.
• 
  Demonstrating the ability to work as a team.
• 
  Undertaking housekeeping duties including cooking, cleaning, etc.
• 
  Any other reasonable duties as deemed necessary.
• 
  Double vaccination is essential for this role.
• 
  Wages are reviewed after 12 weeks and moving over to a permanent position after successful competition of 12 weeks of service
