Exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Technician with hazardous area environment experience, to join our client's Portsmouth based bulk fuel storage operations has become available.

Working as part of a small maintenance team, this safety critical role focuses on tasks being carried out to a high standard of safety, to ensure no harm comes to the environment or people around you. Mostly working outside involving manual handling.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Carry out planned maintenance activities and defect rectification efficiently.

  
  



• Reporting of site defects to Depot Engineer for rectification.

  
  



• Complete weekly and monthly PPM paperwork with the Depot Engineer, keeping to tight deadlines.

  
  



• Prepare the work area for maintenance of depot, systems, or components.

  
  



• Utilise diagnostic techniques to identify faults in depot systems and components.

  
  



• Understand technical drawings, P&ID's, isometrics, general arrangements.

  
  



• A good understanding of Safe Systems of Works / RAM's / PTW. Will be required to review works and produce RAMS to carry out the task safely.

  
  



• AP Duties (Control of Works/Permit to Work).

  
  

Qualifications

The successful candidate will hold a recognised Mechanical Craft Apprenticeship or Equivalent. I.e., NVQ Level 2 Performing Engineering Operations, NVQ Level 2 QPE007 - Forming & Assembling Pipework Systems, Level 3 BTEC Mechanical Maintenance, NVQ Level 3 Mechanical Maintenance, and completed recognised Flange Management Training.

About you

You will have a working knowledge of rotating and static plant, including, tanks, pumps, valves, and pipework. Be medically fit due to occasional working in confined spaces, where breathing equipment will be supplied.

You must be a team player and present yourself in a professional manner. Be computer literate to update compute records and the ability to fill out paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
