Job Title: Assistant Technical Author


Business Area: Lucy Electric (EMS) Ltd


Location: Thame

Job Purpose


To prepare technical documentation for the global Lucy Electric organisation.

Key Accountabilities

  • Creating IOM’s, datasheets and instruction procedures for new Lucy Electric products.

  • Maintain existing switchgear IOM’s, datasheets and build instruction procedures.

  • To compile contract specific IOM documentation.

  • Creating and supply product images to Sales & Marketing for technical documents/sale brochures
Job Dimensions


The role will be based at Lucy Thame in the UK, travel within the UK and overseas may be required.

Essential Qualifications, Experience & SkillsExperience & Knowledge:
  • Mechanical Engineering Experience.
  • Experience in Desk Top Publishing, ideally Adobe Framemaker.
  • Experience in creating technical diagrams.

Qualifications



  • HNC Mech and / or Electrical Engineering or Equivalent.

Skills:
  • PC literate in Microsoft Office
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
  • Ability to create technical diagrams
  • Able to identify and manage priorities in a multiple project environment
Person Specification / Competencies:
  • A self starter who can work without constant supervision.
  • Able to work to deadlines
Desirable Experience & Knowledge:
  • Electrical Switchgear Experience.
  • Experience in graphical design ideally CorelDraw Graphics Suite 2021.
  • Knowledge and experience of CAD 2D/3D packages, ideally Siemens NX.
  • Knowledge and experience of PLM ideally Teamcentre.
  • Knowledge and experience of 3D rendering software, ideally Keyshot 10.
  • Experience in product photography and photography editing.
