Job Title

Specialist, Communications, Europe

The Communications team is focused on driving programs and activities that build, support and defend Mastercard’s reputation among key internal and external audiences. The broader team has been designed to closely mirror the business and support the company’s efforts in delivering world-class payments experiences.



The Europe communication team's mission is to drive business performance and a world-class culture through communication that inspires, engages, educates, and connects Mastercard employees, customers, partners and shareholders. We are customer-centric, data-driven and creative-minded.



We are looking for a talented communications specialist to support our dynamic, fast-growing region. The ideal candidate will have a passion for payments and technology as well as a proven track record in working across communications disciplines to drive initiatives that advance business priorities—this includes influencing the influencers internally and externally through strategic media relations and creative program development. The successful canddiate will design, implement and manage both internal and external communications programs, tools and resources within Mastercard. This individual would work in partnership with the SVP Communications as well as the broader Mastercard communications team, and internal stakeholders within the business and regions.



The role will work closely with partners in markets and across multiple business units.



Specifically, The Role Will Focus On



Act as project coordinator between the executive, internal, and external teams on priority programs



Assist team with coordinating various media requests to support executive visibility internally and externally



Opportunity to pitch stories and write various types of content, from social shorts to media materials and perspectives pieces



Plan and facilitate external and internal events



Develop and maintain positive relationships with global and market-level communications, marketing and their respective agencies and consultants



Building and managing internal stakeholder relationships



Working as a thought partner to the broader Communications team



Manage multiple projects as assigned



Supporting adjacent communications programs as needed

Strong written and oral communications skills – with a sharp eye for detail

Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English / Journalism, Media Studies, Digital Media, Public Relations, Advertising or Marketing
