Data Engineer

Mercury Holidays is a travel company based in Sevenoaks providing award-winning holidays for 40 years. We're currently undergoing an internal transformation focusing on customer centricity and data-driven marketing to create a leading digital platform.

We are looking for a Data Engineer and a Data Analyst who are passionate about turning data and information into valuable insights.

What you'll be doing

• Implementing and maintaining data pipelines into our data lake
• Applying ETL and ELT techniques to raw data
• Assisting the Senior Data Analyst in producing dashboards and running reports
• Filtering, cleansing and auditing of data to ensure data integrity and compliance with applicable regulations
• Taking ownership of the reporting layer over time

What we’re looking for

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
• Proven working experience as a data engineer, data analyst or business analyst
• Good knowledge of reporting packages (BI Tools), databases (SQL), and Python
• Strong analytical skills to collect, organise, analyse and disseminate information with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Good communication skills with the ability to produce engaging presentations and reports

• PySpark
• Experience with Salesforce, Amazon Web Services (Athena, S3, Glue) / cloud architectures would be beneficial.
