Mid Yorkshire Trust is offering an exciting opportunity to join an Apprenticeship Scheme that provides an in initial 24 month programme enabling the development of knowledge, skills and the achievement of a nationally recognised qualification. The position will cover all Trust sites: Pinderfields, Pontefract and Dewsbury Hospitals.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic, motived, outgoing person. The successful applicant would need to demonstrate communication and teamwork skills. All skills will be developed further as part of the apprenticeship programme. On successful completion of the apprenticeship, together with compliance with all Trust policies and procedures, the successful applicant will have the skills and knowledge required for any vacant Groundkeeper position.

The apprentice will achieve a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Horticulture or Landscape Construction Operative and must also achieve Functional Skills in Maths, English level 1 (if not already achieved.)

There is an eligibility criteria for government funded apprenticeships which requires the applicant to be aged 16+, be a resident in the UK for the last three years. Applicants cannot have achieved a qualification at level 2 or above in the same pathway as this will exempt them from being able to undertake the apprenticeship.
