Overview:

The role of Factory General Manager, Aunt Bessie’s Hull has responsibility for the manufacturing site in Hull.

The role involves managing the day-to-day operation for Safety, Quality, Service and Cost of the Hull operation whilst driving continuous improvement and the leading the implementation of the central supply chain strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • The role requires a high level of leadership acumen with a proven track record in achieving excellent results across all aspects of manufacturing.

  • The Factory General Manager has responsibility for c. 300 FTEs (permanent & agency) with a transfer price value of €54M and a factory budget of €21M.

  • The site includes 2* distinct manufacturing departments, with 7* production lines across 21,000 tonnes per annum.

  • The site is multi- category with savoury and sweet bakery capability covering ranges including the iconic Yorkshire pudding, Birdseye meat pies and Jam Roly Poly

  • The UK is the main market serviced from the site but there are small volumes exported to IRE and Canada

  • The site manufactures both branded and private label products; approximately 70% branded and 30% PL

  • The site services a number of PL customers and is subject to unannounced audits from retailers and BRC

  • Work at a strategic and operational level to deliver WCM KPIs in Safety, Quality, Service and Efficiency

  • Responsibility for cost management to meet strategic plans in both savings initiatives and inflation control.

  • Ensure systems and process management to achieve safety, quality and customer requirements.

  • Ultimate site budget responsibility as well as capital expenditure control.

  • Management and development of staff to ensure an engaged and motivated employee base.
