The Opportunity



You will play a key part in keeping our hospital operational activities moving smoothly (which is a priority for us). Once trained and competent as our Porter you will help us to create a safe and pleasant environment for customers and your peers. We will make sure you have the best training and development opportunities and you will be involved in a variety of new initiatives being implemented to help bring the best out of you.



Your role will be varied, each day never the same, interacting with a wide range of people that will make your job very interesting. Our goal is to give you job satisfaction and provide a healthy, safe working environment that you enjoy being in.



The Role:

Assisting with the moving of patients around the hospital on beds and wheel chairs.



Carrying out routine pathology, samples and similar collections



Ensuring storage areas are maintained, cleaned and tidy



Helping to mitigate risk and sustain a good quality of décor by identifying building fabric areas in need of repair



Transporting of equipment from one area to another



Occasional use of simple tools and equipment



Helping with deliveries & their drivers



Supporting clinical staff as required



Following our Health and Safety policies and procedures, ensuring that the location is tidy, pleasant, and safe for patients



Sweeping of leaves in Autumn months to keep paths clear



Collecting bulk linen to top up the department stock around the hospital



Collecting general/clinical waste and disposing of in the correct manor



The Person



As an individual with experience in a similar role, or the right aptitude you will:

Have good communication skills with a good basic level of English language (this will come in handy when you are working in a team with your colleagues, and also when you are interacting with our customers)



Possess good customer service skills, as this is a customer facing role

Our state-of-the-art hospital, is central Cambridge’s premium private hospital, boasting an Outstanding CQC score and offer a full range of medical and surgical specialties. With expertise in Cancer care and Cancer surgery, Orthopaedic surgery (including robotic surgery), Neurosurgery, Cardiology as well as specialist Paediatric services. Recently having secured a partnership with the Royal Papworth NHS (National Health Service) Trust we will see growth in our Cardiology services and aim to expand our current speciality in this field.



Backed by the latest diagnostic imaging facilities including wide bore MRI and CT scanning, we offer immediate assessment and expert diagnosis. Hospital facilities include 3 state of the art digital theatres, 32 beds, Surgical Day Case theatre/endoscopy suite, Surgical Day PODs, private consultation rooms, close monitoring units, Chemotherapy suite, on-site registered pharmacy, Diagnostic scanning unit and a Pathology laboratory.
