I am on the search for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a rapidly growing organisation in Cardiff. The company specialises in designing high quality handling equipment in a wide range of different industries.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

Salary – £40,000 - £45,000 (D.O.E)
I am on the search for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a rapidly growing organisation in Cardiff. The company specialises in designing high quality handling equipment in a wide range of different industries.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
- Degree level qualification in Mechanical Engineering. Product Design, Industrial Design or at least 3 years relevant industry experience in similar role
- Having knowledge of 3D CAD – Solidworks or similar
- Experience with BOMs
- Good knowledge of plastic injection moulding and, metal fabrication and machining processes
- Good organisational skills are required and good time management too
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Able to work with MS Office
The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:
- Being involved in research, design, and development
- Assemble and prototyping parts and assemblies
- Helping to consistently improve company products
- Undertaking a range of design tasks using Solidworks
- Ensure designs all meet cost and design for manufacture best practice
- Working closely with other engineering colleagues
- Researching new technologies
- Creating and maintain BOM data
- Liaising with suppliers helping to source new components
