Grade 1 Warehouse Operator – Days

ROCKWOOL UK are looking to add Grade 1 Warehouse Operator to join their outside Logistics team


This role will include working a Days working pattern - Monday-Thursday 8am-4pm, Friday 8am-3pm. You will report to the Warehouse & Materials Supervisor. This is a full-time, permanent position.

Job Purpose & Scope:

To receive and despatch ROCKWOOL products and carry out general warehouse activities under the supervision of the Process Controller, in accordance with the Warehouse Operating Procedures and Customer Requirements. To ensure a safe and clean work environment within the area.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Check with the Process Controller at the start of the shift and at the end of each task (where appropriate) which warehouse function is required to be carried out.

  • Follow set procedures for scanning receipts in the Small Order Warehouse and the Hardstand.

  • Follow set procedures for shipments in both the Small Order Warehouse and the Hardstand

  • Ensure loads are strapped in, according with Standard Operating Procedures and customer requirements.

  • Correctly pick, stack, wrap and palletise pipes on pallets as per the pipe calculator. Select and print correct labels.

  • Ensures that all packs/pallets are labelled and the details on the label are correct.

  • Carry out full stock takes or Perpetual Stock takes when required, accurately counting and recording against the relevant product code.

  • Operate a Fork Lift Truck in accordance with factory operating instructions

  • Regularly inspect Fork Lift Trucks for defects or wear and report these to the process controller or shift maintenance.

  • Ensures a level of performance to maintain any agreed performance targets.

  • Maintain good housekeeping standards in accordance with the 5S system of work.

  • Comply with a safe method of working and reports any potential unsafe practices or hazards. Also adhere to relevant procedures to minimise the risk of fire.

  • Flexibility if required to move between areas as directed by the immediate supervisor or shift manager.

  • Receive and despatch the correct product in accordance with the warehouse operating procedures.

  • Stop the production Line or any loading operation, in the event of an unsafe occurrence that is liable to cause an injury or serious damage to machinery.

  • Carry out daily Fork Lift Truck inspections and render truck out of use if non-compliant with Safety Audit.

  • Report any non-conformance with the Product or packaging to the Process Controller.
