Overview:
Stirling Dynamics is recruiting a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join the Hyrdromechanical Design capability team on a permanent basis.
The Graduate Mechanical Engineer will be supporting the design and development of innovative technical solutions for applications within the aerospace, marine, flight simulator sectors & Urban Air Mobility sectors. The Graduate Mechanical Engineer will be required to work closely with System, Stress, Electronics, Performance & Simulation engineers within a multidisciplinary project team to ensure the delivery of projects to the agreed technical requirements, timescales and budget. They will be involved in all aspects of the product design life cycle, from initial concept generation, detailed design, implementation, product improvement and in-serve product support.
This role will be based in our Bristol office however as part of our commitment to flexible working, employees are able to work remotely for part of the time.
Responsibilities:
The Graduate Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
Providing conceptual and detail designs to satisfy project requirements
Preparing design support documentation, conducting design calculations and maintaining concise engineering records
Production of drawing packs in line with configuration management processes
Producing Mechanical Designs and Drawings
Conducting engineering investigations for existing product improvements
Conducting research and collating data as required for trade studies
Compiling engineering memos & technical reports
Conducting engineering change management activities on existing designs
Ensuring adherence to best practice technical standards, including those issued via the Company’s Quality Management System, classifications and statutory bodies
- Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Design Engineering
Skills:
- Familiar with SolidWorks
Understanding of BS8888 & GD&T
Ability to work within a multi-dispilinary team
Possitive "Can Do" attitude
Good verbal/communication skills
Desired Skills:
- Familiar with Siemens NX
