Business Unit: Legal, Governance & Purpose, Sourcing & Partnerships Team
Salary Range: Up to circa £63,000 per annum DoE
Location: Must be UK resident. Our Life More Virgin hybrid working model will include some future attendance at our locations.

We’ve an exciting new opportunity for a Legal Counsel to join our Sourcing & Partnerships team. We’re looking for a highly motivated legal professional who can confidently contribute to the Legal, Governance & Purpose team and support the delivery of the Bank`s strategic objectives.

Here’s what you’ll be doing…

• Be an engaged and proactive member of the Legal, Governance & Purpose team;
• Work with colleagues across Virgin Money to agree strategic, high value contracts with our suppliers and partners;
• Challenge the way we deliver our services and come up with new ways of working;
• Build relationships with, influence and guide a wide range of people across Virgin Money;
• Take responsibility for your own development by seeking out activities to be involved in;
• Be a member of a skilled, dynamic, and fun team!.

There are a few essentials you need to bring…

• A current practicing certificate from the Law Society of Scotland or the Law Society of England and Wales;
• Ability to provide ‘hands on’ accurate, timely and commercial legal advice;
• Ability to build relationships;
• Excellent analytical and decision-making skills together with an ability to communicate in a commercial and non-technical manner;
• A desire to make a genuine difference in moving Virgin Money forward.

It’s a bonus, but not essential if you have…

• Some experience negotiating contracts for goods and services.
