Overview / Responsibilities:
Wood is currently recruiting for two Production Technicians on a permanent basis in Barrow in Furness. Please note that these roles are performed as part of a rotational basis.
To proactively ensure the continuous performance and availability of equipment and systems within the discipline, meet the standards required to achieve safety, production and environmental targets
To operate all subsea and topside process plant, utilities equipment and systems in a safe and efficient manner under the direction of the Production Supervisor
To maintain a safe and environmentally compliant working environment
To conform to statutory, corporate and contractual requirements / standards
To contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of work performed on Production facilities
Monitor and record plant conditions, bringing deviations or malfunctions to the attention of the Production Supervisor
Operating all utilities and systems remotely
Prepare process plant and equipment for maintenance by applying specified isolations/venting etc
Prior to start-up of any plant or equipment, inspect and confirm suitability to return to normal service
Logging and recording plant variables
Monitoring and adjusting chemical injection equipment
General utilities duties/bunkering of Chemicals, diesel, water ect, as instructed by Production Supervisor or Control Room Operator
Keeping records and logs of process variables and other activities as instructed
Maintaining an overview of the permit to work system and all activities in progress
Ensuring that the shift handover procedure is followed
Ensuring that any detection or protection system over rides or inhibits are recorded in writing in accordance with the required procedure
Minimise downtime and contribute to the achievement of production targets
Performing first line maintenance / identifying and reporting faults
Carrying out gas tests and work-site inspections
Carrying out emergency duties as required by the OIM / Site Manager
Skills / Qualifications:
- Technical apprenticeship or process operators training scheme
OR : Technical qualification as process plant operator, ideally at HNC level, with NVQ/SVQ Level 2, plus offshore process operations experience
Additional training in facility Fire & Gas, ESD and DCS systems
Appropriate NVQ / SVQ certification Level 3 (E, I, M or HC processing)
Formal assessment as competent to operate at least two processing systems
